PCJSS/JSS key persons:
Sudha Sindhu Khisa, President/ Rupayan Dewan, Vice President,/Tatindra Lal Chakma, General Secretary/. Responsibility shouldered on 11 July 2013.

Background: The present central committee was elected on 11 July 2013, on the 2nd day of the 3-day long 10th PCJSS national conference. The earlier committee (convening committee) was formed on 10th April 2010 when Mr. Santu Larma convened the 9th national conference (29-31 March 2010) in sheer violation of the party constitution and excluded a few hundred veteran leaders and members and also "formally" expelled 7 top veteran leaders (Chandra Sekhar Chakma, Sudhasindhu Khisa, Rupayan Dewan, Tatindra Lal Chakma, Eng. Mrinal Kanti Tripura, Advocate Shaktiman Chakma and Binoy Krishna Khisa) and also declared their capital punishment. The present leadership is determined to democratise the JSS under a collective leadership.

Pro-CHT accord armed groups concentrate in Baghaichari

Commander Indu’s group and the Tangum group met yesterday at Sijak Dojor and spent the night there. Indu’s group left its Maini upper base (Bangachara, north of Nareichari bazar which falls north-east of Ratannagar TSR camp in India) 4 days ago in 2 groups numbering 27 with 22 arms . They halted at 8th mile and Parikhala Chuk near the Mizoram border in Sajek valley and finally arrived at Sijak Dojor yesterday.

Indu went to Maini upper from his base in Sajek in last monsoon through the northern part of Kassalong Reserve with a view to establishing base in India for bringing Panchari and Dighinala Upazilas under his control. On 25th Sept his group abducted 2 civilians from Dhudukchara and took them to India and realized 650,000 BD taka as ransom on 29 October. The same day at 11pm Indu was arrested by TSR personnel from his home at Toichakma village, along with his 3 men. Indu was found heavely drunken. The TSR raided the house of his brother-in-law, Jarip Chandra in the same village. 4 men who had been involved in the Dhudukchar abduction were found there and cash of 650,000 BD taka and 13,500 Indian rupees were recovered from the possession of Jarip Chandra.

A source shared information with the CHT Voice yesterday that a commander of Indu group told him some 2 weeks ago that they had a plan to concentrate in Sajek in December for some meetings. Two matters are now clear that the Maini Mission led by Indu has been a total failure (it sought to reoccupy Panchari and Dighinala Upazilas via Indian soil) and they may now concentrate their minds to reoccupy Marishya. It has been gathered that in January 2011 they shall accelerate their action for reoccupation of lost lands in Khagarachari and Rangamati Hill Districts. Another source within them exported intelligence to anti-Larma JSS that Khagarachari town shall be occupied by 100 students from Rangamati town.
