Meets community people, and beyond?
A source associated with the CHT Voice reports in the morning that Santu Larma, Chairman of CHT Regional Council and self-proclaimed President of JSS left Rangamati Shilpakala academy ghat today at 6.30am. His destination is Khubbang in Mizoram border under Barkal Upazila. 3 powerful speed boats are carrying 27 persons including 6 police personnel. The journey will end after a 3-hour non-stop propelling.
Khubbang, a remote Chakma village on the bank of Thega river, bordering India, 7 miles south of Thega mukh. It is just opposite of Tibiraghat village under Tlabung police station of Lungleih sub-division of Mizoram state in India.
CHT Regional Council member Mr. Sneha Kumar Chakma (JSS adviser) who worked in this border belt during the armed movement is accompanying Mr. Larma while others are Miss Yching Prue Marma (from Bandarban), Mrs. Jayoti Chakma Inu, Udayan Tripura, Sarat Jyoti Chakma, Barun Chakma and a group of PCP (Hill Students Council) students. Mr. Sneha Kumar Chakma was with fever yesterday.
It has been gathered that Mr. Larma has programme to meet the communities at Khubbang. After passing a night there he will start his return journey at 2.00pm tomorrow. Mr. Larma’s health cannot beat winter at all; therefore, a question arises here, what has compelled him to make this tour during this high winter.
