PCJSS/JSS key persons:
Sudha Sindhu Khisa, President/ Rupayan Dewan, Vice President,/Tatindra Lal Chakma, General Secretary/. Responsibility shouldered on 11 July 2013.

Background: The present central committee was elected on 11 July 2013, on the 2nd day of the 3-day long 10th PCJSS national conference. The earlier committee (convening committee) was formed on 10th April 2010 when Mr. Santu Larma convened the 9th national conference (29-31 March 2010) in sheer violation of the party constitution and excluded a few hundred veteran leaders and members and also "formally" expelled 7 top veteran leaders (Chandra Sekhar Chakma, Sudhasindhu Khisa, Rupayan Dewan, Tatindra Lal Chakma, Eng. Mrinal Kanti Tripura, Advocate Shaktiman Chakma and Binoy Krishna Khisa) and also declared their capital punishment. The present leadership is determined to democratise the JSS under a collective leadership.

JSS' Solidarity Statement: Alleged Possible US Presence in Bangladesh and the Bay of Bengal

28 June 2012

JSS’ solidarity declaration
on the alleged would be US presence in Bangladesh and
 the Bay of Bengal

The JSS shares the concern of the 15 eminent personalities (teachers, journalists and engineers) of the country on the alleged possible presence of US in the Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh soil. The JSS endorses the declaration of these intellectuals, which is going to be made public tomorrow in Dhaka.

The JSS considers the demands put forward in the said declaration are just and most important for the interest of the country and beyond. It believes that the Bay of Bengal should not be opened up in favour of any global power in any name.

The JSS fears that the use of Bangladeshi soil including the Bay of Bengal would ultimately lead to using these as grounds for containing other Asian powers, which would invite unrest among the nations of this region and thus the life and struggles of the minority indigenous peoples (including the CHT) would face jeopardy. Therefore, all conscious individuals, groups and organisations of Asia region should raise their voices in line with the said declaration as proactive measure.
