PCJSS/JSS key persons:
Sudha Sindhu Khisa, President/ Rupayan Dewan, Vice President,/Tatindra Lal Chakma, General Secretary/. Responsibility shouldered on 11 July 2013.

Background: The present central committee was elected on 11 July 2013, on the 2nd day of the 3-day long 10th PCJSS national conference. The earlier committee (convening committee) was formed on 10th April 2010 when Mr. Santu Larma convened the 9th national conference (29-31 March 2010) in sheer violation of the party constitution and excluded a few hundred veteran leaders and members and also "formally" expelled 7 top veteran leaders (Chandra Sekhar Chakma, Sudhasindhu Khisa, Rupayan Dewan, Tatindra Lal Chakma, Eng. Mrinal Kanti Tripura, Advocate Shaktiman Chakma and Binoy Krishna Khisa) and also declared their capital punishment. The present leadership is determined to democratise the JSS under a collective leadership.

Santu Larma-led JSS goes with a left coalition targeting the next 2014 national election, it is gathered. The left coalition was formed in the last week of August and it had a public demonstration in Dhaka on the 4th Sept. but it was ultimately abandoned. The CHT Voice gathered this information in Dhaka from a political circle and has been waiting for clearer picture.

The political parties of this newly born coalition are from the Awami League-led grand alliance while two new entries are Santu Larma-led JSS and Pankaj Bhattarchya-led Gano Okkya (formed after deserting Dr. Kamal Hiossain-led Gono Forum).

The idea of launching this mini left coalition has been basically initiated by Rashed Khan Menon, MP and president of Workers Party, it is reported. A few meetings have been held in the last few months, for giving the shape of this move.

The bdnews24.com reports today that top leaders/representatives from Workers Party, Ganotontri Party, Samyabadi Dal, Gano Azadi League, Communist Kendra, Gano Okya and Santu Larma-led JSS (represented by Saktipada Tripura) had a closed door meeting yesterday in the evening at an office at Bailey road in Dhaka.

The objectives of this left move is to form a separate front and go to the people with the recent national burning issues by isolating Awami League and gain strength prior to the 2014 election.

This is also fact that the AL has all thorough been completely neglecting the grand alliance members on the question of running the government.
